The Green Room is on the top floor of Penny’s Mill, and has delightful views over Nunney Brook, our garden and the fields beyond – in spring the bank is covered with daffodils, and in summer birch, ash and hazel shade the turf

Paintings are by local artist Diana Williams, and Susie Gradwell from Moorlynch hand-cut the pretty stencils on the apple green walls

Zip-and-link 3-foot beds mean this room can be a generous twin or a luxurious, six-foot double. The spacious sitting room and crisply modern shower room – right next door – are shared with the Blue Room (shown below) to create our two-bedroom “Family Suite”, ideal for a family or just friends or colleagues travelling together

The Blue Room

Your bed-linen and towels are fresh white cotton. Pillows and duvets are natural down, but if you prefer we keep man-made alternatives

Sitting Room

The Sitting Area outside the Green Room completes the Family Suite, with cane chairs and sofa, a desk area where you can plug in your laptop, and a Samsung flat-screen Freeview TV with DVD and VHS player – just borrow what you need from the eclectic stock on the bookshelves

Dear Rosie and Bill – just a note to say a heartfelt thanks for a truly memorable few days with you. Both Vivian and I had a great time, and feel we have made some genuine new friends. Which means, of course, we shall return – as soon as we are able! Our best to you both – and thanks again – Jonathan
