The latest addition to Penny’s Mill - a self-contained studio bedroom in the converted stable opposite the main house, ideal for a weekend escape or a weekday base for a work trip

Just right for one or two guests, The Studio has a luxurious king-size bed, desk space and eating area. Though not intended as a self-catering apartment, there’s a fridge, microwave and sink plus a Nespresso machine, kettle, crockery - even an ironing board. Breakfast is included in our B&B price, plus there’s a great Café near the castle and the Spar shop in the Market Place is open seven days a week

There is programmable electric heating, and air conditioning for summer, plus a flat screen Smart TV with DVD player. The Studio also has a luxury en-suite shower room – there’s a heated towel rail with our usual large white bath sheets, and our Cole and Lewis body wash and shampoo

The icing on the cake – the room is reached by an outside staircase leading to a high-level deck with lovely views across Nunney brook and our gardens. A bistro table and chairs are waiting for you

Peaceful, comfortable, idyllic

This truly is a special place to stay, and we can only echo other guests' glowing reviews. We stayed in the Studio and liked the extra privacy despite being close to the main house. It was a treat, especially in the hot weather, to be able to sit out on our private balcony to enjoy the views over the garden and listen to the stream. Everything was immaculately presented and Rosie was kind enough to tidy the studio every day. Carefully chosen teas and coffees, comfortable bed, modern and cleverly designed shower room with sliding glass door and a nice strong shower. Rosie and Bill are generous and attentive hosts without ever being obtrusive. The breakfasts are sumptuous and high quality, with Rosie's homemade bread and preserves. It's like the best weekend you could imagine in the countryside, staying with friends. We'll be looking to come again soon! Simon, July 2023
